Introduction

The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course is a training course developed by the American College of Surgeons.
It promotes a systematic and standardized approach to the management of trauma patients, emphasizing evidence-based priorities and procedures to improve outcomes and save lives.
The Course was first introduced in 1980, and it has now been taught to more than 1 million doctors in more than 80 countries around the world.
The recipients of the course are doctors who are directly involved in the management of trauma patients.
The Course aims to provide the trainees with updated skills and protocols to deal effectively with trauma-related medical and surgical emergencies.
The Course, lasting two and a half days, includes canonical theoretical lessons and practical sessions. In addition to verifying the understanding of the concepts taught, adequate training for the most common life-saving technical maneuvers will be provided.
